Educational Gymnastics

Jamie’s School of Fish has expanded! In September 2024, we opened Sweet Peas Educational Gymnastics at our Fresno location, a program specifically designed for children ages 6 months to 6 years. Sweet Peas supports physical, social, and cognitive development through age-appropriate gymnastics and sensory activities, building essential neural connections for lifelong learning.

The program emphasizes balance, coordination, core strength, and life skills like self-awareness and teamwork. Lessons combine gymnastics with cognitive tasks like color recognition and language development, fostering listening and collaboration. With tailored lesson plans, Sweet Peas ensures each child progresses at their own pace, making learning fun and engaging!

Wee Peas

One Peas are ready to move! The One Pea curriculum is designed to teach self-awareness and physical adaptation through developmentally appropriate gymnastics activities. We also work to strengthen the direct link between physical movement and cognitive processing. One Peas’ engage their minds while walking through courses, gliding across beams, rolling on wedge mats, bouncing on springboards, and swinging on bars. Through gymnastics, they learn to balance, maintain, stretch, grasp, and rebound. As One Peas’ transition from infancy to toddlerhood, they are rapidly learning and evolving.

The Two Pea program promotes independence by building onto the rapidly advancing physical, cognitive, and language skills of two-year-olds. The curriculum aids development by boosting gross motor skills with circuits, teaching running, balancing, rolling, and weight shifting, and improving social skills through interactive games. By incorporating shapes, colors, and patterns, Two Peas strengthen their visual and cognitive processing all while having fun in class!

Three Peas focus on advancing motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor abilities through foundational gymnastics activities. Students practice forward and straddle rolls, introductory cartwheels, and balance exercises like squat holds, kicks, and relevé walks on the beam. Lessons also emphasize spatial, sequential, and directional understanding. Structured circuits prepare Three Peas for more independent learning while also working toward recognition of colors, shapes, sizes, and patterns, creating a well-rounded developmental experience.

Four Peas enhance coordination, strength, and precision as they tackle more advanced gymnastics skills. The program includes forward, straddle, and backward rolls with a focus on proper form, along with beam exercises like straight jumps, arabesques, and alternating kick possé sequences to build balance and control. Vault activities such as squat-ons, donkey kicks, and block jumps improve speed and accuracy. These classes foster confidence, cognitive growth, and skill mastery, preparing students for continued progression in gymnastics and beyond.

Five Peas are eager to showcase their abilities! At five years old, they have achieved physical and developmental milestones that enable them to progress quickly. With longer limbs, improved coordination, and enhanced language skills, Five Peas can run faster, climb higher, and maintain positions longer. They are focusing on refining their technique with an emphasis on form and precision.

Six Peas are enthusiastic about exploring various activities! Six-year olds possess the physical, cognitive, and developmental capabilities to accomplish remarkable feats. They can gallop, skip, follow rhythms, and even move backward. Six Peas can grasp detailed instructions well and are generally eager to please. Working with Six Peas is always a rewarding experience!
